Fan-Favorite Marvel Heroine and Future 'Highlander' Actress Just Teamed-up With an Incredible Whiskey

Whether you know her as Amy Pond from Doctor Who, Nebula from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or, you're pumped about her upcoming role in Henry Cavill's Highlander reboot, Karen Gillan is one of the coolest actresses around. And, now, Gillan, who is Scottish herself, has revealed her collaboration with Compass Box, a renowned Scotch whisky brand.

Karen Gillan's Compass Box Whisky Collaboration

Though a Scotch brand, Compass Box is based in London, and its Scottish blended grain whisky, Hedonism, is somewhat unique. Founded in the year 2000, Compass Box has been pushing the definitions of conventions of Scotch-making. Case-in-point: Compass Box outsources its distilling process to various Scottish distilleries, brings them back to London, and then back to Scotland for bottling.

In a sense, that journey matches a international star like Karen Gillan: She's from Scotland, she made it very big on a British TV series (first appearing in 2010 on Doctor Who) and then, she became world-famous thanks to her role as Nebula in Guardians of the Galaxy in 2014. For Compass Box, Gillan agreed to be a "muse" for artist Emma Hack to commemorate the new 2026 edition of the Hedonism whisky.

In a new Instagram post, Gillan says: "There's no wilder sensation of seeing yourself on a whisky bottle...this is way higher than an Oscar..."

Karen Gillan's Next Big Screen Roles

Gillan is currently set to star in the new Highlander reboot, playing the role of Heather MacLeod, opposite Henry Cavill who is playing the immortal hero Connor MacLeod. When that news broke in 2025, Gillan pointed out that because she's Scottish, she's perfect for the role. "My dialect coach can sit this one out...so excited to be an actual Highlander in Highlander." 

The new Highlander is currently filming, and is directed by John Wick maestro Chad Stahelski. A 2027 release date is expected.
