'Call of Duty: Black Ops 7' Adding Free-to-Play Black Ops Royale

0 3

Activision has announced that it will be adding a Blackout-inspired Battle Royale mode to Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 called Black Ops Royale as part of Season 02 Reloaded, a midseason update set to launch on March 12. The new addition, which will take place on Avalon, will have no Gulag and no buy stations. You’ll also be able to command land, sea, and air vehicles.

The free-to-play mode will support 100 players split into 25 teams of four. There are no loadouts associated with Black Ops Royale, meaning players will infil with nothing except a wingsuit and a pistol, and they’ll need to scavenge for any additional weapons, armor, and equipment. Other highlights include:

  • Eliminated players can redeploy using Redeploy Tokens found on Avalon or when the remaining members of your team activate a Redeployment Tower.
  • Attachment kits will allow players to upgrade whatever weapon they’re utilizing rather than needing to locate individual attachments specific to their gun.
  • Avalon will have optional activities as well, such as hunting for bounties, capturing points for redeployment, and fighting through guild defenses.

A comprehensive overview of Black Ops Royale is available on Call of Duty’s blog.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.
