Alysa Liu's Siblings Include Triplets Julia, Joshua, and Justin

0 7

Olympic gold medalist Alysa Liu has four siblings, including triplets named Julia, Joshua, and Justin. She also has a sister named Selina.

Like Liu, her siblings were born via a surrogate and anonymous egg donors. Their father, Arthur Liu, raised the five kids as a single dad. Arthur, a lawyer, was instrumental in his daughter's figure skating career.

In 2018, NBC Sports described the family's home life. "Before he goes to work, her father takes the four younger children to school, then drops Alysa at the rink for the first of what can be three training sessions spaced over eight hours during the week," NBC reported.

According to NBC Sports, Arthur had help from his mom, Shu, and then a family friend, to raise Alysa and her siblings.

His mother, Shu, "spent some eight years in California helping him raise the five young children, returning to China two years ago," NBC Sports reported. "Since then, a friend has taken over some of those parenting duties."

Selina Liu is on Instagram, but her account is set to private. "The next big ukulele, pianist, singer, guitarist, and chess player," her profile reads. According to People, Selina "plays varsity volleyball and soccer in high school" and is expected to graduate in 2026.

According to People, Alysa "shares the same surrogate mother as the triplets: Julia, Joshua and Justin," and she has met the surrogate before.

Alysa Liu Expressed Love for Her Siblings

Liu opened up about all of her siblings in 2025 to A Divine Sport.

"I love them to death. They keep things so fresh and new. I’m really young myself, and they’re not much younger than me. The triplets are only four years younger. And my sister, Selina, is two years younger," she said.

"They’re all in high school. Somehow, we’re all so connected with each other. We just love messing with each other, playing around," she added. "None of us really get mad; we don’t really fight much. It’s just fun to be around them. You can really be yourself and say whatever is on your mind."

"I mean, I grew up with four siblings," Alysa told A Divine Sport.

"So I was talking with people since [I was] very little. I just never stopped. Some people take a break from socializing back at home. I don’t do that; I don’t have that break. We have our own rooms [at home], so we can take a break sometimes," she said in the interview.

"But I just love being with my siblings and being around people. Humans are so interesting and such fun. We create so much, and it’s just never boring."
