TVs on Sale at Walmart
There's a lot of talk about how screens are getting cheaper, but the odds of picking up a tablet or smart TV at random and finding something truly worth the money are absurdly low. What we've found is that Walmart may be the exception.
Walmart is currently flush with TV deals and just overall good bargains on big-screen smart TVs, many of which are selling for under $300. And it's not just random brands, either—we’re talking modern TVs from brands like Hisense, Philips, Vizio, and others, often with built-in access to all of the latest free Roku channels. Men's Journal did some digging through these budget smart TVs at Walmart, and we found five that are well worth the money.
Hisense 65-Inch Class 4K Roku Smart TV, $295 (was $378) at Walmart

This gigantic TV has the great 4K resolution TV fans have come to expect, has HDR and HDR10 color technology, and comes with a built-in Roku TV interface. The included remote even has dedicated buttons for Netflix, Disney Plus, Apple TV Plus, and HBO Max, so you can jump directly into your favorite content.
What Shoppers Are Saying: “The 4K resolution is clear, and the built-in Roku is fast and easy to use.”

Onn 65-Inch Class 4K Roku Smart TV, $278 (was $348) at Walmart
Not to be outdone by Hisense, Walmart’s in-house tech brand Onn is currently selling its 65-inch Roku TV for $278, making it the best bargain for a TV of this size at Walmart. This item pairs well with Onn’s affordable soundbars, which are a bargain whether they are on sale or not.
What Shoppers Are Saying: “The picture is good. Setup was a breeze.”

Philips 65-Inch Class 4K Google Smart TV, $298 (was $338) at Walmart

This Philips TV runs on the Google OS, which should feel relatively familiar to you already if you own an Android tablet. Browsing available content is as simple as saying “Hey Google” as a result of voice-activated search, and casting content from your Android phone to the TV is snappy, too. Finally, the TV connects with your Google smart home, making this an excellent, affordable choice for a modern, tech-connected household.
What Shoppers Are Saying: “The picture is just beautiful. It looks like it's in person.”

While you won’t find an OLED TV at Walmart for under $300, you will find a QLED, the other advanced LED technology of today, for $280. The QLED tech in this Vizio smart TV is super bright, actually making it more compatible with a bright living room environment than other TVs. This, combined with the fact that it has wide viewing angle tech plus AMD FreeSync and an integrated gaming menu, makes this the perfect TV to gather around as a family.
What Shoppers Are Saying: “I mainly bought this for gaming, and let me tell you—it does not disappoint.”

This Hisense has some serious tech in it despite the small price. Mini-LED tech provides extra backlighting zones, giving more lifelike contrast between bright and dark areas of the screen; something particularly nice for nature shots, stealth games, and horror movies. It also has a pretty nifty AI upscaler, which smartly reconfigures content to 4K quality. With smooth motion effects, an anti-lag game mode, and more, this TV has a fully modern feel at an entry-level price point.
What Shoppers Are Saying: “The screen sharpness and contrast are amazing, approaching OLED quality.”

Vankyo Performance H500R 1080P Portable Roku Smart Projector, $178 at Walmart
If you’ve been looking at the other TVs and realizing you’re getting way more TV at this price than you expected, it might be time for a small projector that can make a big image on the wall. I personally have an older Vankyo projector that I use nearly every night, and, despite also only displaying in 1080p, I’m able to get a very crisp picture with an ultra-cool vibe. Even the chat in Twitch VODs displays cleanly and legibly, though there can be blurring around the edges. This modern Vankyo includes Roku and both auto-focus and auto-keystone correction, meaning getting a crisp image will be even easier for you than it’s been for me.
What Shoppers Are Saying: “It brings a cozy and cinematic vibe to my apartment.”
