Everything We've Learned From The New 'Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man' Trailer
Netflix has released the final trailer for Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, and it answers plenty of burning questions that fans had about the sequel movie's plot.
Cillian Murphy will return as gang leader Tommy Shelby, with Barry Keoghan, Rebecca Fergusson, and Tim Roth also joining the cast. The new trailer also offers glimpses of Stephen Graham and Sophie Rundle, who are returning as Hayden Stagg and Ada Thorne from the original series.
Tommy's Son Duke Has Taken Control of The Peaky Blinders
The latest trailer for The Immortal Man reveals that Tommy's illegitimate son Duke, who joiend the Peaky Blinders in the final season of the show, has taken control of the company following his father's self-imposed exile.
Duke will be played by Barry Keoghan, who is seemingly stepping into one of the film's most central roles. His dynamic with Tommy, and their conflicting ideologies over how to run the Peaky Blinders, will be a key storyline in the sequel film.
Duke Is Offered To Betray His Country During The War
The Immortal Man takes place during the height of the Second World War, and Netflix's latest trailer suggests this will play a huge role in the film's story. Tim Roth's character, who remains unnamed, approaches Duke at some point and states: "I need to know that you are willing to take part in an act of treason that will decide this war for Germany."
The trailer goes on to show Duke saying that "the world don't give a f**k about me," teasing that he's willing to sacrifice his morals to bolster his own success. This propensity for violence and selfishness is likely what's causing the schism between Duke and Tommy, forcing the pair to fight for control of the family.
The Garrison Has Forgotten Tommy Shelby
During one of the trailer's most intense scenes, Tommy returns to the Garrison—once the headquarters of the Peaky Blinders—and announces that he's looking for his son. But to the viewer's surprise, none of the men drinking there recognize him.
It may have been a decade since Tommy has last been there, but his name should still carry some weight with the regulars. Perhaps the gang has simply moved away from the Garrison, or perhaps Duke has tried to erase his father's legacy in the years he's been away. Either way, it makes Tommy's return all the more volatile and unpredictable.
