Nancy Guthrie Case: Police Announce Glove DNA Testing Results

Testing results are back on the glove found in a field approximately two miles from the Tucson, Arizona home of Nancy Guthrie, who remains missing more than two weeks after last being seen.

Last weekend, the FBI announced that the glove, which contained a DNA profile, had been sent for testing. The latest update from Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos indicates no match was found in the Combined DNA Index System (CODIS), the FBI's national DNA database.

DNA dead end in national database

Nanos told FOX 10 Tuesday that the glove did, which police thought matched the ones worn by a possible suspect in surveillance camera footage, did not produce any hits in CODIS. T FBI confirmed as much to Fox News Digital.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department issued a statement on the results on X/Twitter Tuesday afternoon as well.

"DNA evidence from gloves found approximately 2 miles from Nancy Guthrie's residence was submitted to CODIS & produced no matches," the statement says. "There is additional DNA evidence that was found at the residence that is also being analyzed."

Interestingly, the Pima County Sheriff's Department tweet contradicts part of the Fox News Digital report, which quotes Nanos as saying that additional DNA found in Nancy Guthrie’s home failed to produce any matches.

Search for Nancy continues, multiple rewards offered

Nancy Guthrie, 84, was last seen on Jan. 31 and reported missing the following day. Her disappearance is a suspected kidnapping, with investigators handling between 40 and 50,000 tips in the two-plus weeks she's been missing.

Currently, the FBI is offering a $100,000 reward in the case, with an additional $100,000 being advertised by Milwaukee-based lawyer Michael Hupy. Hupy, the president of Milwaukee Crime Stoppers, is coordinating the reward through Crime Stoppers Tucson.

“She’s an 84-year-old woman and I don’t like the way the investigation and reward is being handled,” Hupy explained to FOX6 Now. “I think it could have been done much better. I think if the $100,000 was put up through crime stoppers – we could be further along.”
