Delta Air Lines Adds Two New Routes to Hawaii, Boasts 'Most Robust' Schedule Yet
If you're looking to have a bright Hawaiian Christmas Day this year, or perhaps escape the bitter cold around this time next year, Delta Air Lines will have you covered with its largest-ever slate of flights between the mainland United States and Hawaii.
This week, Delta announced two new flights between the United States mainland and the Aloha State, along with "expanded flying and aircraft upgrades across its existing Hawaii routes" as part of what it is calling its "most robust seasonal schedule to date."
Two New Routes
On Friday, Delta officially announced the launch of Minneapolis–St. Paul to Maui and the return of Boston to Honolulu beginning Dec. 19, 2026, bringing two new routes to travelers looking to get to the tropical paradise beginning next winter.
“Hawaii plays an important role in our long-haul leisure network,” said Amy Martin, Delta Air Lines Vice President of Network Planning, in a news release. “This expansion strengthens connectivity from key U.S. hubs while giving customers more choice in how they reach the islands, alongside the premium travel experience they expect on these long-haul flights.”
For the Boston-Honolulu route, flights will operate daily during peak late-December holiday travel, then will transition to four times weekly through the winter season. As for the Minneapolis-St. Paul to Maui route, it will also operate daily during peak holiday and spring break periods, with five weekly flights scheduled through the core winter season. Both routes will use the Airbus A330-300.
Enhancing Existing Flights
In addition to the launch of the two new flights, Delta is also expanding its existing flights to Hawaii with added frequencies, earlier seasonal service, and aircraft enhancements as it boasts its most expansive Hawaii schedule to date.
Here is the airline's rundown of some enhancements to its current slate of flights to the Aloha State:
- Atlanta (ATL) – Honolulu (HNL): Second frequency operating three-times-weekly from January 04, 2027, through March on the Airbus A330-300
- Detroit (DTW) – Honolulu (HNL): Expands from three-times-weekly to daily service beginning Nov. 9, 2026, operated by the Airbus A330-300
