Savannah Guthrie Sends Strong Message After Flurry of Activity at Home of Tommaso Cioni, Photos of Potential Suspect Emerge

0 1

Late Monday, Feb. 9 night the Federal Bureau of Investigation revealed it still didn't have a suspect in the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the mother of Today show host Savannah Guthrie.

"For more than a week, FBI agents, analysts, and professional staff have worked around the clock to reunite Nancy Guthrie with her family. The FBI is not aware of any continued communication between the Guthrie family and suspected kidnappers, nor have we identified a suspect or person of interest in this case at this time," a statement from the FBI read.

Less than 24 hours later, the FBI released new findings.

FBI Releases Photos, Video of Potential Suspect

FBI Director Kash Patel posted photos and video of the potential suspect caught on a doorbell camera of Guthrie's home.

"Over the last eight days, the FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Department have been working closely with our private sector partners to continue to recover any images or video footage from Nancy Guthrie’s home that may have been lost, corrupted, or inaccessible due to a variety of factors - including the removal of recording devices," he said

"The video was recovered from residual data located in backend systems.   Working with our partners - as of this morning, law enforcement has uncovered these previously inaccessible new images showing an armed individual appearing to have tampered with the camera at Nancy Guthrie's front door the morning of her disappearance," he added.

Savannah Guthrie Responds to New Evidence

Not long after the images were released, Savannah Guthrie took to social media to reiterate the belief she's been holding on to - that her mother is still out there.

"Someone out there recognizes this person. We believe she is still out there. Bring her home," she said in a message on Instagram along with video of the potential suspect. "Anyone with information, please contact 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) or the Pima County Sheriff’s Department 520-351-4900."

Flurry of Activity at Home of Annie Guthrie, Tommaso Cioni

Over the weekend, the house belonging to Nancy’s daughter Annie and husband Tommaso Cioni received a flurry of police activity. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department admitted that heavy law enforcement presence would continue on Monday night and into Tuesday.

“Many of you observed an active law enforcement presence at the Guthrie residences over the weekend. That activity will continue tonight and into tomorrow as part of the ongoing investigative process, including the expansion of the search and follow-up on new leads,” the message read. “This is all part of the investigative process, as the search for Nancy expands and new leads come in. To preserve the integrity of this criminal investigation, details of that process are not being released at this time.”

Neither the FBI nor the Pima County Sheriff's Department have publicly identified as suspect as of yet.
