Authorities Make Major DNA Decision in Nancy Guthrie Case
Investigators remain on the hunt for Nancy Guthrie, the mother of Today co-host Savannah Guthrie, who disappeared from her home in Tucson, Arizona and hasn't been seen since Jan. 31.
On Tuesday, a new report from Fox News says authorities have begun soliciting DNA workers from a "gardener, pool cleaner and other hired help" at Guthrie's house as they continue to search for the missing 84-year-old.
DNA swabs in the works
In a new video, Fox News Digital reported that workers around the home have submitted buccal swabs in order to generate DNA.
"Why is that significant? Because it reveals that there was DNA found in the home or at the crime scene that they are now going to use these sample to either eliminate them as suspects of generate the information that might bring some other results," the clip says.
Nancy Guthrie was reported missing on Sunday, Feb. 1 after failing to show up at a friend's house to watch a video church service. Since then, investigators have worked tirelessly chasing down leads in what is a suspected abduction.
Surveillance footage released
On Tuesday, FBI Director Kash Patel shared a potentially critical update, publishing previously unseen surveillance footage from Guthrie's home which may depict a possible suspect.
"Over the last eight days, the FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Department have been working closely with our private sector partners to continue to recover any images or video footage from Nancy Guthrie’s home that may have been lost, corrupted, or inaccessible due to a variety of factors - including the removal of recording devices," Patel wrote. "The video was recovered from residual data located in backend systems.
"Working with our partners - as of this morning, law enforcement has uncovered these previously inaccessible new images showing an armed individual appearing to have tampered with the camera at Nancy Guthrie's front door the morning of her disappearance."

Pima County Sheriff's Department also involved
Local sheriffs have been working in conjunction with the FBI, saying Monday they were still grinding through the investigation.
“We do not have any additional information to release publicly this afternoon,” the Pima County Sheriff's Department said. “The investigation into Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance remains active and ongoing. We understand the significant public interest in this case; however, investigators need time and space to do their work. If and when relevant information becomes available, it will be shared.”
As of now, no suspect or persons of interest have been officially named.
