Patriots Star Arrives at Super Bowl LX in Handcuffs

Mack Hollins, wide receiver for the New England Patriots, has turned up to the Super Bowl in a prison jumpsuit, handcuffs, and no shoes.

The NFL star has become well known for his eccentric public appearances, often arriving at events in unexpected outfits, and the Super Bowl is apparently no different. Hollins is looking to win his first Lombardi Trophy this year, but he's already proven that the pregame is just as important for his brand.

Many fans are speculating that Hollins' costume is an intended reference to Alcatraz Prison, which stands just 80 kilometers away from Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, where this year's Super Bowl is taking place.

Tonight's game marks the second Super Bowl held at Levi's Stadium, with the 68,000-capacity venue also serving as the host of the 50th Super Bowl back in 2016.

Hollins is also carrying a jersey in his hand during the unconventional pregame entrance, which fans quickly identified as Mike Vrabel's high school jersey. Vrabel is currently the head coach for the Patriots, and previously played with the team for several years.

The jersey also has the word "Warriors" on the front, which is seemingly a reference to Hollins' previous bold entrance at the AFC Championship pregame. There, he was seen clinking two bottles together and chanting "warriors come out to play!"

The chant, in turn, is a reference to Walter Hill's 1979 movie The Warriors, which centers around a New York City gang whose leader is framed for the death of a charismatic leader. It's unclear exactly why Hollins was referencing the film, but Patriots fans quickly bought into the chant.
