Tommaso Cioni, Annie Guthrie House Receives Flurry of Law Enforcement Attention
Law enforcement has given new attention to the Tucson home of Nancy Guthrie's daughter, Annie Guthrie, and her husband, Tommaso Cioni.
According to Fox News reporter Sarah Rumpf Whitten, investigators spent 2.5 hours at the home of Tommaso Cioni and Annie Guthrie on the evening of February 7. Whitten shared multiple videos from the scene to her X page, showing SUVs leaving the couple's residence. It's not clear why law enforcement was there, however. Authorities have not accused Annie Guthrie or Tommaso Cioni of any wrongdoing.
"White flashes are visible coming from the garage, which appears to be investigators taking photographs," Whitten wrote on X. "Also seeing what appears to be a silver briefcase being taken from the unmarked white truck by LE currently in Annie Guthrie’s house."
Tommaso Cioni has worked as a teacher and poet; Annie Guthrie, who is one of Nancy's three kids, is a poet and author. They have a child together, and she confirmed in a 2013 interview that they are married. It appears that Annie Guthrie has now either deleted or privatized some of the family photos, including those of Cioni, that she posted on her Facebook page. The photos, which were visible in the days after Nancy disappeared, showed Annie and Cioni together on hikes and doing other family activities. There is still one photo of Cioni prominently displayed on her Facebook page.
One Investigator Was Seen With Blue Latex Gloves, a Report Says
CNN also reported: "At least three deputy sheriffs were seen at Annie Guthrie’s house Saturday night. While lights in the house appeared dim and shades were drawn, bright flashes –– possibly from authorities taking photographs –– were observed through the windows."
The network added an additional claim: "One deputy sheriff was also seen wearing blue latex gloves."
Fox News reporter Michael Ruiz reported that authorities also returned to Nancy Guthrie's house on February 7. The two homes are located fairly close to each other. "They are looking at the ground with flashlights," he wrote.

The law enforcement activity came after Annie, Savannah, and their brother Camron Guthrie released a new video directed at any kidnapper or kidnappers. “We received your message, and we understand,” Savannah Guthrie says in the video. “We beg you now to return our mother to us so that we can celebrate with her. This is the only way we will have peace. This is very valuable to us, and we will pay.”
Authorities with the FBI and Sheriff's Office have confirmed in news conferences that they are reviewing the authenticity of multiple alleged ransom notes received by news outlets in connection with the disappearance. It is the second video released by the siblings since their mother was reported missing on February 1.

To be clear, the Pima County Sheriff, Chris Nanos, has repeatedly said that authorities do not have a suspect or person of interest in the case. When a reporter asked him specifically about Cioni, 50, at a news conference, he reiterated that authorities do not have a suspect identified in the case. He also said that no one is off limits per standard investigative procedure as investigators continue to probe what happened to Nancy Guthrie, the daughter of TODAY Show host Savannah Guthrie.
Nancy Guthrie, 84, was last seen at her home on the evening of January 31. She was reported missing the next day by family, Nanos has said. The New York Times has reported that Nancy took an Uber to the home of Cioni and Annie on January 31 for dinner and a game, before Cioni dropped her "safely" at her own home.
