Alt Rock Singer Dead at 47
Brad Arnold, lead singer of 3 Doors Down, has died at age 47. He had been diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer last year, and the band canceled their summer tour.
“As a founding member, vocalist, and original drummer of 3 Doors Down, Brad helped redefine mainstream rock, blending post-grunge accessibility with emotionally direct songwriting and lyrical themes that resonated with everyday listeners,” the band wrote in a statement.
He died peacefully at home, surrounded by his wife Jennifer and other loved ones, according to the band's Instagram post.
The post-grunge band was best known for their songs "Kryptonite" and "When I'm Gone." The band recorded six studio albums, four extended plays, 29 singles, one video album, and one compilation album. The Better Life album sold more than 7 million copies.
