The Top 10 Nintendo Switch 2 From February's Nintendo Direct
Nintendo had its first Direct of 2026 on Thursday, Feb. 5—Partner Showcase—which consisted of third-party titles, including both new games and ports of existing ones. Below are the 10 most-anticipated upcoming launches shown during the Direct for the Nintendo Switch 2:
10) Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection
Capcom’s turn-based spinoff to its wildly popular Monster Hunter series gets a third installment and the first since 2021. While it doesn’t generate the same level of interest as the mainline games, turn-based combat done right is among my favorite gaming experiences. It’s due to hit the Switch 2 on March 13.
9) Scott Pilgrim EX
Alright, you can play Scott Pilgrim EX on a regular Nintendo Switch, but I’m throwing it in here anyway because Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game is an excellent side-scrolling beat-‘em-up, and I’m excited that the sequel is dropping on March 3. It’s kinda sad it was relegated to the montage rather than getting its own moment to shine.
8) TOKYO SCRAMBLE/Turok: Origins
I’m lumping together the two dinosaur games because, as my interest in Code Violet should tell you, I am all about games that involve hunting and/or hiding from dinosaurs. TOKYO SCRAMBLE, a stealth-based game featuring weird, hairy “Zinos” apparently living beneath Tokyo, is a Switch 2–exclusive, launching on Feb. 11. In addition, while it may not be the prehistoric series I most want to see revived—that would be Dino Crisis—Turok: Origins could still scratch an itch.
7) Orbitals
It’s easy to spot the Hazelight Studios influence from games like Split Fiction and It Takes Two, but there’s nothing wrong with aping great games. The gameplay here looked fun and creative, and the visuals have a cutesy vibe that I find endearing. The world needs more whimsical co-op experiences, and this one is showing some potential.
6) The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales
I am a sucker for those pseudo-old-school Square Enix RPGs: I Am Setsuna, Lost Sphear, Octopath Traveler, and so on. The Adventures of Elliot looks like it’ll fit right in, even if it’s saddled with one of those excessively long names.
5) Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition / Indiana Jones and the Great Circle / The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered
I’m cheating a little bit here by lumping all three Bethesda ports into one slot, though there’s a definite hierarchy for me. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle ranks first, delivering the best story in that franchise since Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, not to mention Troy Baker doing an excellent Harrison Ford impression. Oblivion is next, as last year’s update breathed new life into the 2006 release. Fallout 4 brings up the rear. It’s good, but it didn’t hit the heights of Fallout 3 or Fallout: New Vegas. Still, all three are absolutely worth owning if you haven’t had the chance to experience them before.
4) REANIMAL
If you’ve seen my lists for the top 26 games of 2026 or, more recently, the top 10 games releasing this month, you know how primed I am for REANIMAL. Tarsier Studios’ follow-up to the Little Nightmares games drops on Feb. 13 just in time for a little spooky Valentine’s Day co-op with that special someone (that you want to scare).
3) PRAGMATA
It was a big day for Capcom fans with a Nintendo Switch 2. Direct included another look at Capcom's new title, PRAGMATA. There’s also a demo available now, so you can check out the combat system ahead of its April 24 launch. Like REANIMAL, PRAGMATA was one of my top 26 games, checking in one spot ahead of it.
2) FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH
For PlayStation 5 Pro owners, there haven’t been a ton of titles that have really taken advantage of the additional power to a noticeable degree. FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH might top the list—at least until Grand Theft Auto VI launches. It’s a great game, and while I’ll reserve judgment on a Nintendo Switch 2 port, if you don’t have other systems, the fact that you’re gaining access to one of the best RPGs out there is great news.
1) Resident Evil Requiem
As with the above title, I’ll need to see Resident Evil Requiem running on a Switch 2 compared to Xbox Series X and PS5 to know how it holds up. That said, it’s launching at the same time on that system is a huge win for those that only have a Switch 2. Capcom is also releasing new amiibo figures, a custom Pro Controller, and both Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil Village. Those that haven’t played any of them can get all three in the Resident Evil Generation Pack for $90, which is a pretty good price.
