Lately, I’ve been digging through Columbia’s annual Winter sale, which runs through Feb. 11, because the brand has been offering some great deals on its core lineup. While it seems like a lot of attention has been geared toward heavy hitters like the fur-lined Barlow parka and Alpine ski jacket, there's also a must-see sale on the bestselling Steens Mountain 2.0 fleece jackets. Right now, they’re as low as $33.

This is your basic, bare-bones fleece that’s straightforward in its simple design, while still delivering enough lightweight warmth to wear all through fall and to layer easily now during the bitter winter (and then in the spring, once things start to come back to life).

This jacket has around 3,800 five-star ratings on Columbia’s site (43,300 five-star ratings on Amazon), so it’s a pretty safe bet for a fleece if you've never owned one before. One shopper highlighted that this “incredibly soft” lightweight fleece “truly warms both the body and the soul.” It’s a solid “well-made” jacket that’s insanely “cozy,” they said.
