McDonald’s Wants You to Add Caviar to Its Nuggets—Really
Hot on the heels of its adult Happy Meals, McDonald’s is launching a new limited edition meal—and this one involves caviar. The fast food giant has teamed up with Paramount Caviar to give away a kit that will allow you to put the salty, luxurious treat on your McNuggets.
“To be known is to be loved, and we know our fans love pairing our crispy Chicken McNuggets with their favorite caviar,” the company said in a press release. “Inspired by this perfect match, we’re dropping our first-ever McNugget Caviar kits featuring premium Baerii Sturgeon caviar … After all, nothing says ‘ILY’ quite like a limited drop from McDonald’s just in time for your Valentine’s Day plans.”
What’s in the McNugget Caviar Kit
Each McNugget Caviar Kit—which is available exclusively at McNuggetCaviar.com—comes with a 1-ounce tin of McNugget Caviar and a $25 Arch Card to order McNuggets with. The kit also contains crème fraiche and a classy Mother of Pearl caviar spoon.
The kits won’t be available in stores; you can only get them online starting at 11 a.m. on February 10. Quantities are limited.
When Did This Caviar on McNuggets Thing Start?
Who first had the idea of putting salt-cured sturgeon eggs on McNuggets?
According to Delish, there has long been a trend of putting expensive caviar on decidedly inexpensive foods, from tater tots to Pringles. But we may have bad girl Riri to thank for popularizing caviar on McNuggets: Rihanna did it as far back as December 2024, posting a video to her Instagram page in which she called the combo a “soccer mom snack.”
From there, the trend took off across TikTok and Instagram, and by November 2025, Grazia was proclaiming “Apparently, We’re All Eating Caviar On Chicken Nuggets Now.” The publication spoke to Katya Bataeva, founder of Volzhenka Caviar, to figure out why, exactly, “high brow” caviar was popping up on so many “low brow” foods. “The caviar industry is still very dusty, very old-school, very traditional—heavy luxury,” she said. “It’s what we’re trying to get away from. … You don’t need to cook anything with caviar. Use it as a topping, even on things like mousse au chocolat or ice cream. It pairs beautifully if the quality’s right.”
