Snoop Dogg's Granddaughter Codi Dies: What Was Her Cause of Death?

Snoop Dogg has lost his 10-month-old granddaughter, Codi Dreaux, the child of his daughter, Cori Broadus.

How did the child die? What was Codi's cause of death? The official cause of death was not announced. However, the child had a series of public health challenges that shed light on what happened.

Snoop Dogg appeared to address the tragedy by sharing a photo on Instagram that shows him with his kids, including Cori. He included heart and prayer emojis in the caption. The rapper's son, Cordell, shared the same photo in his Instagram story and wrote, "Lil sis, we got you forever."

Cori Broadus confirmed that her daughter had died in a post to her Instagram story, which showed her holding the baby. "Monday, I lost the love of my life. My Codi," she added.

Cori announced previously that her child was born premature, at 25 weeks. "The princess arrived at 6 months ????????????????," she wrote. "I’ve cried and cried, I’ve compared and compared, blaming myself because I wasn’t able to give her all that she needed. But no matter what God always shows me that He got me! Baby girl came at 25 weeks today and she’s the best!! Thank You God for getting me this far ????"

According to USA Today, Broadus "was diagnosed with HELLP syndrome, which stands for Hemolysis Elevated Liver enzymes and Low Platelets."

HELLP (Hemolysis, Elevated Liver enzymes and Low Platelets) syndrome "is a life-threatening pregnancy complication usually considered to be a variant of preeclampsia. Both conditions usually occur during the later stages of pregnancy, or soon after childbirth," according to Preeclampsia.org.

HELLP syndrome "can be difficult to diagnose, because all of the typical signs of preeclampsia may not be apparent, such as high blood pressure and protein in the urine," the site reports. "Its symptoms are sometimes mistaken for gastritis, flu, acute hepatitis, acute fatty liver disease, gall bladder disease, or other conditions. While some of these conditions may also be present, there is no evidence they are related."

The site noted, "Early diagnosis is critical because serious illness and even death can occur in about 25% of cases. As a result, patient awareness of HELLP syndrome, and how it relates to preeclampsia, is helpful to ensure the best medical care for mother and baby."

The heartbreaking post included a picture of the baby's foot.

She also shared a previous photo that showed her with the child in bed, when she announced the baby was home.

That picture came on January 6, when Cori wrote, "She’s home. ???? Thank you for every prayer, every message, every ounce of love. God heard them all. ????️✨" The post included a video that showed her nuzzling the child.

People filled Cori's Instagram page with prayers and well-wishes. "No words , ???? my deepest condolences to you and your family , praying for you all at this very sad time in your lives ????," wrote one person.
