Is Harry Styles Planning His Tour Around the Marathons He's Running?
Last year, when Harry Styles’ fans were anxiously awaiting a new album, the singer was making headlines for another reason: running marathons. And it seems he may be scheduling his 2026 tour around the dates of major races.
The “Watermelon Sugar” singer, 31, burst onto the running scene when he completed the Tokyo Marathon in March of 2025. Styles ran the race in 3:24:07, which averages out to a time of 7:47 per mile. According to data by RunRepeat, the average time it takes a man to complete a marathon is 4:21:03. So already, Styles was running much faster than most.
However, in September 2025, Styles blew his personal record out of the water at the Berlin Marathon — completing it in just 2:59:13. This put Styles in the top five percent of all finishers of the 26-mile-long race.
A sub-three-hour marathon is considered extremely difficult, for pop stars and laypeople alike. Yet, it didn’t seem Styles was maintaining that breakneck pace for publicity or status. Instead, he keeps a rather low profile at his races. He entered the Berlin Marathon under an alias, “Sted Sarandos.” He wore sunglasses, a headband, and a simple, black long-sleeve shirt and black shorts on race day. If you didn’t know to look for him, the singer could easily fade into the faces of the thousands of other competitors running alongside him.
When asked about his relationship with running, Styles told The Bru Show, “I think that the relationship between the kind of meditative aspect that music can have and the meditative aspect that running can sometimes have, it was, like, weirdly made a lot of sense to me that those two things happened at the same time.”
His two loves are definitely lining up in 2026, as he prepares for a new global tour that aligns with the release of his new album Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally. The tour kicks off in Amsterdam on May 16, which means he’ll have access to plenty of nearby marathons before his first show, including the Rotterdam Marathon on April 12 or the London Marathon on April 26.
Styles’ month-long Madison Square Garden residency also lines up well if he wants to take on the New York City Marathon. The marathon takes place on November 1, the day after Styles’ last show. There are also notable breaks in his residency that align with the Chicago Marathon and Berlin Marathon. While he likely won’t run Berlin again, any other race is up for grabs.
While Styles hasn’t confirmed if he’ll be running any races, it seems he wants to continue incorporating his two loves in the near future. Styles also said, “I think just feeling, like, clear and present and, like, doing one thing at a time and just being in it was kind of the goal of both.”
If you’re hoping to suss out Styles’ strategy for his aliases, in hopes of seeing him at his next race, good luck. He doesn’t seem to take his alter egos too seriously. “And the names, I don’t know, are silly really,” he said with a laugh.
If silly names are what it takes to run a sub-three-hour marathon, maybe I’ll sign up as “Sted” for my next race.
