Guy Fieri Shares Why He Changed His Signature Blonde Hair
After rocking his signature blonde and spiky do for years, Guy Fieri is making a major style change.
Fieri, 58, told People about his decision to get rid of his goatee and blonde hair as part of a Super Bowl campaign for Bosch. "If you’re going to go big, go big," he said of the decision to become a new version of himself he's calling JustaGuy.
"hey said, ‘Well, can you shave your goatee?’ And I said, ‘I would for this. This is such an important commercial. This is such a big deal,'" he added.
Guy Fieri's New Look Even Confused His Mother
The campaign features Fieri in both forms. “I sent the picture to my mom and she said, ‘Who is that?’” Fieri said. “She said, ‘It really looks a lot like you, but I know it’s not you.’ I said, ‘Mom, that’s me.’”
Fieri first shared a peek at his new look on January 22, his 58th birthday. In a video shared on social media, he's seen wearing a checkered button-down shirt and khakis. “Hey there! After so many years of celebrating my birthday as Guy, I figured this year I’d celebrate it as just a guy,” he said in the video before blowing out candles on a cake.
The celebrity chef also told the outlet that production on the commercial was a unique experience. "It was the craziest 24 to 36 hours of my filming career," he explained. "We shot it like a movie. Nothing was spared."
He continued: "It took two hours to put the wig on. When you see the picture, you’re either going to want to buy a life insurance policy from me or you’re going to want to go out to Bingo."
Fans Thought Guy Fieri's New Look Was A.I.
The new look definitely prompted reactions from fans, many of whom assumed the video was generated by AI. Bosch was quick to shut down those rumors.
"Guy’s birthday post is not AI," a spokesperson told People. "The video was shot with Guy Fieri himself, and the Justaguy transformation was achieved using high-end post-production visual effects."
The Patriots And The Seahawks Will Play The Super Bowl
This year's Super Bowl will be played by the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots. The last time the Patriots played the game was in 2018, when Tom Brady was still the team's quarterback and Bill Belichick was their coach.
The last time the Seahawks made an appearance was in 2015 for Super Bowl XLIX — when they actually lost 28-24 to the Patriots.
