Highly Anticipated Prime Video Prequel Series Renewed for Season Two — Before the First Episode Even Debuts
One of Amazon Prime's most hotly-anticipated new shows has been renewed for Season Two, before viewers have even gotten a glimpse of Season One.
The ‘Legally Blonde’ Prequel Is Starting Season Two Already

Elle, the Legally Blonde prequel series, is set to release in full on Prime Video on July 1st. According to a report by Variety,production on Season Two will formally begin in the spring, before its premiere episode has been seen by viewers.
Little is known about the upcoming show, but the official synopsis details that the prequel “follows Elle Woods (Lexi Minetree) in high school as we learn about the life experiences that shaped her into the iconic young woman we came to know and love in the first Legally Blonde film.”
Reese Witherspoon, who portrayed the adult Elle Woods in the 2001 film Legally Blonde, and its 2003 sequel Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde, will serve as Executive Producer on the series, under Hello Sunshine, her production company.
“Twenty-five years after the world met Elle Woods for the first time, it’s a dream come true to share the story of how she became the unstoppable force we all fell in love with,” Witherspoon told Variety.
“Discovering Lexi Minetree and watching her step into Elle’s fabulous shoes has been one of the most gratifying experiences of my career. I think our series’ themes of kindness, authenticity, and believing in yourself will resonate deeply with fans of the original films and new audiences alike."
The Oscar-winning actress went on to confirm that Season Two was officially in production. Working with our incredible Hello Sunshine team, Amazon, and our visionary writers and directors to bring Elle’s high school journey to life has been a tremendous joy. I can’t wait to share Season One with the world and start rolling cameras on Season Two!”
Actors June Diane Raphael and Tom Everett Scott will portray Elle's mother and father, respectively. Other cast members include Chandler Kinney, Amy Pietz, Matt Ober, Chloe Wepper, David Burtka, Kayla Maisonet, Lisa Yamada, and another '00s legend, James Van Der Beek.
