Why We Love This Deal
Boutique Swiss running brand On doesn’t have big sales like Brooks, Hoka, or Nike, but shopping the brand’s Last Season collection, which features deals on top running shoes, is a great way to get your feet in a pair. Right now, we’re eyeing last season’s Cloudsurfer 2, a beloved high-cushion shoe that’s perfect for crushing your everyday training miles.
The On Cloudsurfer 2, a shoe that’s normally priced at $160, is available for $110 in On’s Last Season section. This shoe is available at that price in one colorway, Glacier/Ivory, and two other colorways are available for $125. Crucially, there are plenty of sizes in stock, which is not always the case with Last Season styles, and the $110 is the best price we’ve seen for this shoe—it beats the prices at REI and Dick’s Sporting Goods, for example.

- Best Use Case: Everyday training for runners who like a neutral, well-cushioned shoe
On designed the Cloudsurfer 2 as a well-cushioned workhorse, a training shoe that’ll keep your feet comfortable as you bang out everyday runs and casual jogs. It’s a neutral shoe, so it’s designed for runners who like a plush ride and don’t need extra support or assistance with overpronation.
The Cloudsurfer 2 features the brand’s CloudTec Phase midsole construction—hollow tubes that compress on landing and then bounce back into shape at toe-off—and the midsole is made from On’s plush Helion foam. Together, the CloudTec tubes and Helion foam deliver a cushioned ride while saving weight and adding some bounce into your stride. The mesh upper is all about comfort: It has padding around the ankle collar for a snug fit, and the porous textile vents excess heat to keep your feet cool. On the bottom, the outsole generates good grip on the pavement and has the durability to hold up through high-mileage wear.
In the wider On lineup, the Cloudsurfer 2 is slightly less cushioned than the Cloudsurfer Max and Cloudmonster 2, two ultra-cushioned shoes with very thick midsoles, but it is lighter than both of those models. It offers more cushioning than the Cloudswift 4, another everyday trainer that’s tuned for responsiveness.

On shoes always sell fast when they drop below their normal retail prices, and several sizes of the Cloudsurfer 2 are already out of stock. If you want a pair, make moves ASAP: Toss some of these capable cushioned shoes in your cart to uncover why the hype behind this brand isn't just hearsay.
