Target Quietly Made a Change to Start 2026

0 27

Target is coming out of a busy holiday season, and the retailer is aiming to keep that momentum going as 2026 begins.

Over the holiday period, Target quietly made a significant change. The retailer dropped their prices on items, as Americans struggled with inflation.

The good news is that the annual inflation rate in the U.S. was 2.7% in December 2025, according to research from Trading Economics, which was the lowest since July and below forecast of 3.1% and 3% reported for September.

Now, on Wednesday, Jan. 7, the retailer announced that it's launching a new line of wellness products, aimed to help keep patrons' New Year's resolution of getting healthier. Plus, keeping in line with Target's new philosophy of lower prices, many of these items are under $10.

Target Launches New Line With Lower Prices

As for the wellness line, Target is expanding its offering of wellness-related products by 30%, adding thousands of new items, including skin care, beauty, nutrition, food and beverages, weight management and baby care.

"About 70% of guests are already shopping wellness at Target and right in time for the new year, we're bringing them even more newness and value by adding some of the most trusted, relevant and inspiring brands across our assortment," Lisa Roath, executive vice president and chief merchandising officer of food, essentials and beauty for Target said in a statement.

She added, "Our goal is to make wellness really accessible – fun, easy, affordable and personalized – so consumers can focus on building routines that help them look and feel their best."

New Target Items Available in 2026

One of Target's wellness focuses is the retailer's "more protein, more ways" offerings, which feature Target expanding with ButcherBox's exclusive retail debut of 100% grass-fed beef options, as well a quick protein snacks and powders from Misfits, David, Bloom and FlavCity.

Target is also boosting its vitamin offerings, noting, "As more guests seek supplements aligned with personal wellness goals such as immunity and gut health, Target is deepening its assortment with brands like Cymbiotika, Arrae and The Coconut Cult, and new options from Lemme, Grüns and Seed."

Also, look for more offerings in functional and non-alcoholic beverages, self-face and performance-ready apparel.

Target is also launching wellness events at local stores. Check out local Target for area events.
