Bruno Mars Just Made a Huge Announcement! So What Does That Mean for 2026?
Peter Gene Hernandez, aka Bruno Mars, just took to social media on January 5 and made a big announcement. Five years after combining forces with hitmaker Anderson Paak to form the super group Silk Sonic to release An Evening with Silk Sonic, and 10 years since his last solo project, 24K Magic, it looks like Mars finally has a new album on the way. The multi-grammy-winning crooner took to X (formerly Twitter) and posted, “My album is done.”
For fans who have been craving more of Mars unique brand of pop music, this is fantastic news. Sure, he released his hit “Die with a Smile” with Lady Gaga in 2024 and the surprise top 20 Billboard song “Fat Juicy & Wet” with rapper Sexyy Red in 2025, but those singles amount to breadcrumbs from a man who has released several popular albums that have gone on to receive lots of critical acclaim and applause from music critics and fans.
When Does the New Bruno Mars Album Come Out?
As of publication, there’s not much more that can be said about the new album. Mars only announced that one was done. He didn’t provide any follow-up information about when fans could expect it to drop, who may be featured on it, or if he'll again lean on past R&B sounds for the tracks. So for now, fans will just have to make sure to follow him on social media for more updates, or keep their ears pressed to the street for any musc gossip. It's very possible the album comes in 2026.
Who Else Is Releasing Albums in 2026?
Considering it’s the top of the new year, it’s not quite possible to announce a full slate of forthcoming albums in 2026. However, during the first quarter of the year, artists like Zach Bryan have a scheduled release on January 9, A$AP Rocky on January 16, Mumford & Sons on February 13, and BTS on March 20. So whether Mars premieres before these artists or after, we’ll just have to wait and see.
