Tyler Loop Releases 1st Emotional Statement After Missed Kick Video Goes Viral
Baltimore Ravens kicker Tyler Loop has given a first emotional statement about his missed field goal, which crushed the team's playoff hopes.
Loop had been having a good rookie season when the missed 44-yard kick stunned fans and gave the victory to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
"For it to end like that sucks, and I want to do better," Loop said in a video clip published by ESPN. "Unfortunately, the nature of the job is you have makes, and those are awesome, and unfortunately, you have misses, and for that to happen tonight sucks."

According to ESPN, the missed field goal was Loop's first game-winning attempt, although the rest of the season went well for the 6th round pick. Loop, who replaced Justin Tucker for the Ravens, made almost 90% of his field goal attempts during the season, according to ESPN.
"The second it made contact with my foot, I felt it lower," Loop told reporters. "We talk about hitting on the fourth lace of the shoe. It felt a little lower down the foot and hit it thin."
"I couldn't even remember. It just sucks," he added when asked what was going through his mind.

He made a few other comments about the kick, which earned him the ire of Ravens fans on social media. “Just mishit the ball. We call it hitting it thin," Loop said, according to video posted by SI.
Sports Illustrated also noted that Loop had an otherwise great season. The rookie kicker "was tied for seventh in the NFL in points with 134," SI reported.
Loop limited the comments on some of his Instagram posts. The top post shows him in an embrace with his fiancée, announcing their engagement.
