Friends Received Holiday Cards From Rob, Michele Reiner After Their Deaths
It has been over two weeks now since Rob and Michele Reiner were brutally murdered in their Los Angeles home, allegedly by their 32-year-old son Nick, who is currently being held without bail on murder charges. The pain of the tragedy is still palpable for family and friends of the legendary actor and his wife.
This week, at least one of the Reiners' close friends experienced both a heartbreaking reminder of what they lost and a powerful look at the couple's lasting legacy when she received their annual holiday card in the mail.
The Reiners' holiday cards were still mailed this year
Neda Soderqvist, who served as a trainer for Michele Reiner, shared a post on Instagram Monday which included a photo of the inside of the card she received from the Reiners.
It contained the printed phrase "May the holiday season bring peace, joy and love to you and yours" along with a handwritten message.
"Dear Neda. What can I say after all these years. We love each other, are mad at each other and just move on! And it always works out! I hope you have a great holiday with your family who adore you. Love, Michele and Rob," the note reads.
Reiners' impact felt 'even from heaven'
In the caption of her post, Soderqvist explained that Rob and Michele also sent her an end-of-year bonus that she intended to use some of as a donation in Michele's name.
"Today in the mail was a card from Michele and Rob Reiner! Even from heaven, they are still making sure that everyone receives their bonuses and what really truly touches my soul and heart are the cards that Michele wrote me and one of the funny things about her was each time she sent me a bonus she would make me promise her that I would utilize it for myself and not give it away," Soderqvist wrote.
"She knew me so well but today Michelle I promise you I’ll keep $100 and the rest I’m going to donate in your honor to one of the most inspiring foundations that I know you love thank you for being my best friend ride or die. Someone who taught me self-worth self-love and I will keep your legacy going forever and I’ll give you the oath that I’ll be here for your children."
Obviously, there had to be something eerie about Soderqvist receiving the gift from the Reiners after their deaths. We're also guessing she wasn't the only person to get the card and bonus.
Still, there was also something uplifting about the couple continuing to leave an impression by giving their friends one last thing to remember them by.
