This 2025 Horror Hit Comes to Hulu on New Year’s Eve
The holiday season allows us to get closer to friends, family and loved ones, but one of 2025's most acclaimed films took that concept to its limit in an interesting and unique way.
"Together" stars real-life married couple Dave Franco and Alison Brie as a couple who experience horrific, grotesque changes to their bodies after deciding to move away from the city.
The film received positive reviews from both fans and critics, resulting in a "Certified Fresh" rating on review aggregate website Rotten Tomatoes. The film received acclaim from over 90% of critics, and an overwhelming majority of fans who logged into the site also enjoyed it.
When is 'Together' Available on Hulu?
"Together" is set to make its long-awaited streaming debut on Hulu, and fans will be able to see if the film lives up to the hype on December 31.
The film was directed by Australian filmmaker Michael Shanks, who makes his feature-film directorial debut in charge of the real-life married couple. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Shanks said that the “passion and enthusiasm” of both Franco and Brie helped the film stay on track during a razor-thin production schedule.
“It’s not just what they bring to the table as actors, but also as producers and as champions of independent filmmaking,” the director said.
“Every single day on set, we were torturing them, having them do this intense physical stuff throughout this film, and they just never complained. We had somebody on the crew who’s been working in the film industry for 40 years lugging lights around, this crusty old Aussie guy, and he came up to me and said, ‘I’ve never worked with better actors than these guys.’"
Franco, Brie Discuss Their Experience
Despite pulling from their real-life experience as a couple for authenticity, Brie stressed that her relationship with Franco is in a much better place than the one portrayed in the film - both literally and figuratively.
“We’re very happy to say that our relationship is nothing like the relationship in the movie,” the actress said. “But just having been together over 13 years, having that shared history, being in love, we knew that would naturally find its way into the script."
Franco agreed, saying that their experience together - both in the film and outside of it - has caused them to rethink how they feel about their own dynamic.
“I think this movie has a way of really holding a mirror up to the audience and reflecting back to them their feelings about relationships,” Brie said. “It’s already been exciting to see audience reactions. They’re all walking out with something different depending on how they feel about monogamy.”
Hulu users will be able to form their own opinions on "Together" when it becomes available for streaming on the platform on New Year's Eve - December 31st.
