George Clooney’s Broadway Debut Coming to Netflix in 2026

In 2026, Netflix users will have the opportunity to watch Clooney in action on stage. Good Night, and Good Luck: Live from Broadway, a filmed recording of Clooney's Broadway show, will be added to the streaming service after the new year, according to a new report.
When will Good Night, and Good Luck debut on Netflix?
Per What's On Netflix's Kasey Moore, Good Night, and Good Luck: Live from Broadway will premiere on Netflix on in the United States, United Kingdom and other select areas on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026.
"This project is a unique full-circle moment for Clooney. He co-wrote, directed, and starred in the original 2005 film, which earned six Academy Award nominations," Moore writes.
While Clooney played producer Fred Friendly in the movie two decades ago, he portrayed Murrow in the stage adaptation this time around, which required at least some adjusting on the part of the 64-year-old actor.
“The hardest part for me is smoking,” Clooney said about becoming the award-winning journalist. “He smokes a lot. And we smoke a lot in the play. Everybody smokes in the play, so the place is covered in smoke. And smoking in our family’s a big, you know, problem.”
What records did Good Night, and Good Luck set on Broadway?
Good Night, and Good Luck earned 5 Tony Award nominations, including one for Clooney for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Play.
The show also became the highest-grossing play in Broadway history, and became the first production to gross more than $4 million in one week, earning $4,003,482 for eight shows in early May. It took less than two months for the play to recoup its initial investment of $9.5 million.
Additionally, one night of Good Night, and Good Luck originally aired live on CNN as a special television event, which had not happened before.
“I can’t tell you how exciting it is to do something that’s never been done,” Clooney said in a statement at the time. “CNN is the perfect place to bring this story of courage to so many more people than we could have ever hoped. Live TV. No net.”
