'Big Brother 27' Star Mickey Lee Dead at 35
Mickey Lee, who appeared as a houseguest on Big Brother 27, has sadly died at the age of 35, her family announced in a statement shared on social media.
“With profound sadness, the family of Mickey Lee announces her passing,” the Instagram statement read. “She transitioned peacefully on Christmas evening.” The family went on to remember Lee for the joy and warmth she brought to those around her, writing, “She will be remembered for the love she gave and the genuine connections she formed both on and off screen.” They also asked for privacy as they grieve her loss.
Prior to her death, the family had shared that Lee was facing a serious medical emergency and had been placed in intensive care. A GoFundMe page established in the days leading up to her passing noted that she had suffered multiple cardiac events and was receiving ongoing medical treatment.
Lee gained national attention as a contestant this past summer on BB27. In the wake of her passing, an outpouring of condolences has flooded social media, with former castmates and viewers honoring her life.
"Sorry for your loss and my prayers for your family RIP MICKEY you are missed - love to all of you," her costar Rachel Reilly wrote. Another cast mate Clifton "Will" Williamscaptioned, "This is absolutely horrible. Life is so short. Mickey was an incredible spirit and a joy in the house. Prayers to her family. The big brother family will miss her dearly."
Zach Cornelladded, "Mickey, thank you for being such an incredible friend and inspiration to me both in and out of the house. I’ll keep trying to shine your light through the A, and I know you’re looking down on us right now. ATL Baddie for life."
"Sending much love and strength to Mickey’s family. She made a real impact on everyone around her and she won’t be forgotten," wrote Zae Frederich, who also played alongside Lee.
Season 21 alum Tommy Bracco also wrote a tribute: "When you watch BB you feel like you know the houseguests, so even though I didn’t know her, my heart breaks. I’m so sorry for your loss. She was a very special person and she’ll be remembered always."
