DirecTV Adds Four New Free Channels
DirecTV is adding four free channels to its free streaming service, MyFree DirecTV, according to the latest reports.
Currently, the MyFree DirecTV app offers more than 130 channels to customers and advertises a customizable, "premium" experience without any monetary charge. Last month, the service added several new channels, including Red Bull TV, DAZN Ringside, NBA Fast and Portlandia.
On Wednesday, Cord Cutters News reported that MyFree DirecTV will debut four new free offerings covering multiple genres.
What are the new MyFree DirecTV channels?
DirecTV's latest additions to its cost-free platform, per Cord Cutters News' Jess Barnes are:
- America’s Funniest Home Videos
- Love After Lockup
- Stories by AMC
- Acorn TV Mysteries
The first channel is self-explanatory. It will air episodes of the popular ABC comedy series, which debuted in 1989 and remains on the air to this day; in fact, America's Funniest Home Videos has a new episode of its 36th season coming on Jan. 4, 2026.
Love After Lockup currently airs on We TV and will debut its seventh season in January. The show follows the lives of recently-released felons and the significant others they forged relationships with while behind bars.
Stories by AMC is also pretty clear-cut, airing various AMC programs, while the shows on Acorn TV Mysteries include My Life Is Murder, Harry Wild, Manhunt, The Catch and Irish Blood.
DirecTV also recently added premium channels for subscribers
Last week, DirecTV introduced five new channels for subscribers who access Peacock through their DirecTV account. Customers can find the new offerings after channel 619 on their guide.
"The first Peacock Games channels hit the service last night and feature college basketball, with more set to launch in the future, around upcoming events," said Cord Cutters News last Wednesday. "The channels will include major Big Ten and Big East college basketball, top English Premier League action, and other significant live sports events."
