Sherrone Moore 'Stalking' Accusation Emerges in 911 Dispatch Audio
More accusations are emerging about the alleged behavior of fired University of Michigan coach Sherrone Moore before his career took a sudden nosedive.
First, college football reporter Pete Thamel said on ESPN's SportsCenter that, although the firing shocked fans, the this situation had been “percolating” for several weeks. “There had been a lot of uneasiness on the Michigan staff, sources had told me Sherrone Moore had been acting strange, berating assistant coaches, not acting in a normal way,” Thamel said on the show.
Then, TMZ obtained 911 dispatch audio that included an accusation that Moore stalked and attacked a woman. To be clear, Moore has not been charged with any crime although the fired coach is sitting in a Michigan jail while an alleged assault investigation unfolds, according to Pittsfield police and the jail in Washtenaw County.
Sherrone Moore Is Accused of 'Stalking' the Woman for Months
TMZ did not name the woman in the dispatch audio. The alleged staffer's name has trended on social media, but she is not confirmed to be the woman in question. Moore was fired after the university said that credible evidence emerged that he had an inappropriate relationship with a staffer. Moore is married to wife Kelli, with whom he has three children.
According to TMZ, the dispatch audio captures a woman "claiming he attacked her at her home on Wednesday after stalking her for months."
The call "was made from a Michigan football employee's address in Ann Arbor, Michigan," TMZ reported, adding that the employee allegedly "was the executive assistant to the head coach." However, TMZ also reported that it wasn't clear whether the woman was alleging she was the person attacked or whether the alleged incident involving Moore just took place at her residence.
Before the Arrest, Sherrone Moore Had Presented Publicly as a family Man
The Broyles Award posted a photo of Sherrone with one of the three kids he shares with wife Kelli in November. "When Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore has free time, he spends it with his family," the post says.
“Our daughters don’t care about the outcome of the games, they just want daddy to sit down and read them a book when he gets home … and that’s what he does," he was quoted as saying.
Sherrone Moore had gushed several times over his wife on his Instagram page, but not in recent years.
"Happy three year anniversary to my life partner and best friend. So proud of you and all your accomplishments. I am so happy and blessed beyond measure to call you my wife as the man upstairs leads us to live through him. Love you soo much and excited about what the future holds for us!" he wrote in 2018, posting a photo collage to Instagram.
