Singer DELAROSA Shot to Death in Los Angeles Ambush

A rising singer named "DELAROSA" has been shot dead in a parked car.

That's according to TMZ, which reported that the singer, whose real name was Maria De La Rosa, was shot to death in Los Angeles, and the suspects are at large. She was shot in the Northridge area of the California metropolis on November 22, according to Los Angeles police.

A press release from the Los Angeles Police Department confirms that De La Rosa, 22, was the victim. KTLA-TV described the shooting as "ambush-style." The television station described the victim as a "Latin singer who went by the name DELAROSA. She released a song titled 'No Me Llames' – which means 'Don’t Call Me' in English – this past August."

DELAROSA had 40,000 followers on Instagram. Her page is filled with glamour and bikini photos and photos of her enjoying high-end luxury items, such as Chanel purses.

"The Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery-Homicide Division, Valley Section, is currently investigating a shooting that resulted in the death of a female victim," police wrote.

Los Angeles police reported that witnesses saw two male suspects fire into a parked car, striking De La Rosa.

On Saturday, November 22, 2025, around 1:25 a.m., gunshots "were heard in the area of Bryant Street east of Tampa Avenue in Northridge. Witnesses described seeing two male suspects approach a vehicle that was parked on Bryant Street," police wrote.

"Multiple rounds were fired at several victims who were parked in the area in their vehicle. One victim, later identified as 22-year-old Maria De La Rosa, sustained gunshot wounds, and later succumbed to her injuries at a local hospital," they added.

KTLA-TV reported that three people were inside the car when the gunfire broke out. The two other victims were in critical condition, the television station reported.

Los Angeles Police Say the Motive for DELAROSA's Shooting Is Not Clear

The motive for the shooting "is unclear and no arrests have been made," Los Angeles police wrote.

"Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Operations Valley Bureau Homicide, Detective Simonyan or Detective Lopez, at (818) 374-9550," they wrote.

In Delarosa's most recent Instagram post, from October 30, she is sitting on a sofa with a guitar in a red dress. "Busy cookin in the Stu ???????????? ????don’t call me ???? in It’s about that time.. GAME TIME BABY," a translation of the post reads.

"Did you miss me? Did you miss me?" she wrote in July with a glamour shot. Another photo showed her on a beach in Colombia.

According to KTLA, those offering their condolences included Jimmy Humild, a record executive. A person wrote on X, "DELAROSA losing his life like this is tragic, and violence this sudden always leaves shock behind. A young artist gone too soon. A community left with questions. And suspects still at large. Moments like this remind us how fragile life is."
