D4vd Death Investigation Takes Grisly Turn

0 41

The investigation into who killed once-missing teen Celeste Rivas has taken a grisly turn - if she was murdered at all. The cause of death may be difficult to determine, a new report says.

Romantic Homicide singer D4vd has been under scrutiny since the teenager's remains were found in the trunk of a Tesla registered to him at a Hollywood tow lot, and now "horrendous" details are being released about the state of her body. Be forewarned that the details are grim.

  • Investigators believe Rivas's body was "frozen," which means they may never determine a cause of death (that has been pending by the medical examiner's office), TMZ reported on November 23.
  • The body was starting to thaw when it was discovered, TMZ added.
  • Furthermore, the medical examiner "received the body in horrendous condition … it was decapitated, and, while the torso was intact, the limbs had been removed and cut into multiple pieces," according to TMZ.

D4vd, whose real name is David Burke, has not been arrested or charged in connection with Rivas's death. However, a series of accusations has raised concerns, and he cancelled his tour after the teenager's body was discovered.

TMZ has described D4vd as a suspect and claimed that there is a second suspect in the case, but authorities have not publicly confirmed that.

D4vd's Music Lyrics & a Home Tied to Him Have Been Under Scrutiny Since Celeste Rivas's Body Was Discovered

A series of developments has increased the scrutiny on D4vd. A house tied to him was searched by police, his concert tour was cancelled, and music promotions were halted.

The death imagery in D4vd's songs and music videos is also getting attention, especially a music video that shows a body being placed in the trunk. He’s both the victim and perpetrator in that video, however.

His best-known song is called “Romantic Homicide,” and the music video for it shows him with a bloody shirt and shows a bloodied woman wearing a white dress and lying on a bed. D4vd has said in interviews, however, that the woman’s death is not meant to be taken literally.

A series of other troubling details have emerged in the Celeste Rivas death aftermath, including reports that D4vd recorded a song that mentioned the name “Celeste.”

D4vd Has Explained the Lyrics to the Song 'Romantic Homicide' in the Past

D4vd explained the lyrics to “Romantic Homicide” in an interview with Genius. The song has had 195 million views on YouTube.

The lyrics include the lines, “In the back of my mind / I killed you / And I didn’t even regret it. I can’t believe I said it / But it’s true / I hate you."

“So what inspired the hook, ‘in the back of the mind you died,’ is kind of like the storytelling aspects of the lyrics that came before it in a way that it builds up to,” D4vd said in the interview. “The big moment where she died in the back of my mind. I didn’t kill her physically, but in the back of my mind, she died. I didn’t even cry, not a single tear.”

“I’ve seen people online taking different meanings and interpretations from that one part of the song where it’s their past selves that are dying,” he added, “And they’re not even crying about it because they’ve evolved and they’re becoming better people or have killed addictions and other different stuff like that. So I think it’s very powerful in that way too.”
