Keanu Reeves Sends Clear Message About Stolen 'John Wick' Rolex
Keanu Reeves has spoken out following the FBI’s announcement that personal items stolen from his home in 2023, including a John Wick Rolex watch, have been returned to the actor.
Keanu Reeves Watch Collection Returned After Robbery
The FBI confirmed in a Nov. 18 news release that items stolen from Reeves’ home during a 2023 jewelry heist had been returned to the Good Fortune star. The release explained that the items were recovered by the Policía de Investigaciones de Chile (PDI, or the Investigative Police of Chile) during a raid earlier this year, which targeted a group of organized burglars in Santiago. The gang, dubbed South American Theft Groups (SATG) by government officials, is known to travel from Chile to the United States, burglarizing the homes of affluent victims before returning home and selling the goods. The recovered items belonged to two victims, one of whom was Reeves.
Reeves' Collection Was Worth $125,000
Amongst the actors' stolen items were six wristwatches, one of which was a personalized Rolex Submariner with a John Wick engraving worth $9,500. The total worth of all six watches was $125,000. Reeves positively identified each of the items as the ones taken from his home. In a note to authorities, Reeves said, "It is with profound gratitude and appreciation that I am writing this letter. Thank you so much for all your effort, dedication, professionalism and cross-border cooperation. My warmest regards, Keanu."
"This case is a perfect example of the excellent international cooperation we enjoy with our Chilean counterparts and our local partners at [the] Los Angeles Police Department," Akil Davis, the assistant director in charge of the FBI’s Los Angeles Field Office, said in the news release. "While burglary is a local crime in the United States, the FBI works collaboratively with the Los Angeles Police Department and others to share intelligence via our Major Theft Task Force and through other channels. These crimes affect celebrities and non-public figures alike, and the FBI is committed to assisting our local partners in combating this scourge affecting the lives of innocent victims."
