Aldi’s 20-Piece Glass Storage Container Set Is Perfect for Holiday Leftovers—and a Steal for Just $20
Thanksgiving and the holiday season are approaching, and this time of year often brings parties, potlucks, get-togethers and special meals at home. Along with it comes more food than most people are used to cooking, and with that, a need for proper food storage solutions.
Aldi, as usual, is right on schedule with its product launch timing, as it's bringing back the Crofton 20-Piece Glass Food Storage Set right before the busy season drops. It includes 10 glass containers in small, medium and large sizes, and comes fitted with 10 lids to keep food fresh and in place. Because the containers are made of glass, they're dishwasher- and microwave-safe, upping the convenience factor.
At just $19.99 for the entire set, you can purchase a few to stock an entire cupboard or drawer if you plan to have a busy food-related holiday season or tend to keep leftovers frequently. In comparison, a similar Pyrex 20-piece food storage set is priced at $44.99. Aldi is almost always a step ahead when it comes to pricing its kitchen and home foods—and groceries, of course.

While Aldi has not yet released the specs on this set, according to a Parade article, it comes with three one-ounce containers, two two-cup containers, one four-cup container, three six-cup containers and one seven-cup container. You can fit small amounts of leftovers, condiments, dips or a handful of fresh fruit and vegetables in the small ones, or larger quantities of leftovers, meal-prepped dishes or soups in the medium and large containers. The airtight lids come in blue or red, allowing you to choose either or both, depending on the aesthetic you're aiming for.

If you're like me, you may plan to bring food storage containers to parties, as family members often try to pass off leftovers to others so they can enjoy their treasured dishes for days to come. I also love sharing turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry sauce, Brussels sprouts, salad and dressing, and sweet potato casserole, so it's nice having extra containers on hand to send food home with guests. If these are like the Pyrex set, they're freezer-safe, so you can easily freeze dishes if you won't eat them all right away.
Since some folks enjoy leftovers year-round (we survive on them in my house), it doesn't hurt to have a nice new set of glass food storage containers that can make meals last a few days. If you're busy, you won't have to cook every single night that way. Plus, the bowls are oven-safe, so you can bake dishes in them. (Note: the lids are not oven-safe.)
