Mega Millions Jackpot Reaches Massive Payday After Unprecedented Winless Streak

Well, to scratch the itch you have to buy a ticket for Friday's Mega Millions drawing. The whopping amount is up for grabs after the jackpot, again, went unclaimed on Tuesday, with the winning numbers rolling out as 10, 13, 40, 42, 46, and the gold Mega Ball 1.

For the uninitiated, you gotta match all six numbers to claim the massive check.

If someone picks the right numbers, they stand to walk away with $280,581,980 in cash after federal taxes, though the number shrinks when you factor in state taxes, depending on the state you call home.

You will need a ton of luck to draw the right numbers, but luck's been nowhere to be found as of late, as Friday's drawing will be the 40th since the Mega Millions last drew a winner, which came on June 27.

If the jackpot again goes unclaimed, the next winner will have the distinction of being only the eighth person to claim a jackpot worth $1 billion-plus.
