Johnny Knoxville Takes Over as Host of ‘Fear Factor’ Reboot, Replacing Joe Rogan
Step aside Joe Rogan, a new era of Fear Factor is coming with Jackass star Johnny Knoxville taking on the mantle as its new host.
The competition series is getting a reboot scheduled to release in January 2026, with a new teaser revealing that fans can expect just as much squemish and gross content as before. In the teaser, an ominous figure is seen blending a fruit smoothie with the added cockroaches and organs.
"When you reimagine a series as legendary as Fear Factor, you need a host who is the epitome of daring charisma and spectacle, and that’s Johnny Knoxville personified," producer Sharon Levy commented in a statement.
"We’ll be pushing fear and social strategy to places that will redefine reality competition, which makes Johnny the perfect host for what will be a wild, unforgettable ride, and we’re beyond excited to see him unleash all the fear (and the fun) on our contestants and our viewers."

Fear Factor: The Next Chapter will also stray from the original series formula by dropping a group of strangers into a remote location. They will live together under one roof and "face mind-blowing stunts, harrowing challenges and a twisted game of social strategy where trust is fleeting — and fear is a weapon."
Like always, only one contestant will make it out as the winner with a grand prize. Fear Factor became known for its daring stunts and stomach-churning challenges that involved eating live insects and questionable items.
Joe Rogan became synonymous with Fear Factor as its original host since its premiere in 2001 on NBC. He continued to host the series until 2006, and made a brief return in the 2011 revival.
Alongside Knoxville in the reboot, Ludacris was the only other host from 2017 until 2018. Rogan hasn't made an official comment on the reboot, with Fear Factor: The Next Chapter set to premiere on Fox.
