LeBron James Teases 'Second Decision' Announcement Tuesday
Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is hinting at "the decision of all decisions" coming up on Tuesday, October 7.
If you're familiar with James, you know all about "The Decision" in 2010. When the then-25-year-old announced on ESPN that he was leaving Cleveland to sign with the Miami Heat in free agency, it sent shockwaves throughout the NBA. Not only did it alter the landscape of the Eastern Conference, it also changed many fans' perception of James as a whole.
On Monday, James tweeted out a 10-second clip of himself sitting down for an interview, similar to the way he did "The Decision" more than 15 years ago.
"The decision of all decisions. October 7th. 12pm EST. #TheSecondDecision," he captioned the post.
Not surprisingly, James' tweet has fans buzzing.

Speculation running wild
While we will have to wait a little less than 24 hours for the full context of LeBron's "second decision," people have already begun trying to interpret his cryptic teaser.
Opinions are largely split into two camps: people who think LeBron is promoting something and those who think he might actually be retiring.
"We live in such strange times because either this is an ad or the sports world will be turned upside down," said Bleacher Report's Molly Morrison.
"This is gonna be the farewell tour isn’t it?" one fan said.
"I know this is an ad, Mr. James, you not fooling me," another person added.
"Tomorrow is Prime Day and I’m pretty sure he did ads for them last year," noted NBA writer Harrison Faigen.
"I might shed real tears when he retires man he’s been playing like my whole life," another fan chimed in.
The end is coming...at some point
James, who turns 41 in December, has to retire eventually. However, going into his 23rd season, he remains one of the NBA's top players, and the Lakers are expected to be playoff contenders once again in the West after winning 50 games but losing in the first round of the postseason in 2024-25.
In 70 games last season, James averaged 24.4 points, 8.2 assists and 7.8 rebounds per appearance. He also shot a career-best 78.2% from the free-throw line while making his 21st consecutive All-Star Game.
James did not appear in the Lakers' preseason opener Sunday night due to minor glute nerve irritation, a precautionary move. He is expected to be good to go when the regular season opens later this month.
Our guess:
It's tough to believe that James is really going to tease his retirement announcement like this.
We're betting on the "second decision" having something to do with a sponsorship.
