American Airlines Announces New Nonstop Flights Between Two Cities

0 1

American Airlines is gearing up to add a new seasonal flight route for customers starting in the summer of 2026. The announcement comes months after the airline already released details of its nonstop flights to Sun Valley, Idaho, starting this winter into April.

On October 1, American Airlines announced it will launch new nonstop service next year between its Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport hub and Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport in Alaska.

The news is a continuing effort by the airlines to demonstrate their "ongoing commitment to grow without customers" and offer more travel experiences.

"As evident by the new Anchorage service, we’re continuing to add nonstop service from PHX to exciting destinations our customers are wanting to visit and enjoy," said Sophia Ortiz-Philis, vice president of American's hub at Sky Harbor, in a statement.

American's flights from Phoenix to Anchorage are scheduled to go into effect starting on May 21, all the way through September 8, 2026. Purchasing tickets for the flights will become available on October 6 on the American Airline wbesite.

According to reports, flights will leave Phoenix at around  8:35 p.m. and arrive in Alaska at 1:29 a.m. (Alaska Daylight Time) the following day.

The return flights coming out of Anchorage will leave at 11.55 p.m. and land in Phoenix at 6:24 a.m. Travelers should account for changes in time zones when booking their flights.

For Super Bowl fans, the airline also announced it will roll out nonstop season flights between Phoenix and San Jose for the 2026 Super Bowl.

Three flights will be added on February 5 and 6, with two to San Jose on February 9. The 2026 football event is scheduled to take place at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
