Busch Light Offering 19 Years' Worth of Free Beer — But There's a Catch

There's a problem with the first name "Hunter."

According to the U.S. Social Security Administration, the name's popularity has plummeted by 93 percent. And that's a huge problem for Busch Light, the beer that touts itself as the beer choice for the outdoorsy.

In honor of bringing back its Busch Light hunting cans for the 19th year, the beer is vowing not to let the name vanish by betting there's one fan out there willing to legally — yes, legally — change their name to Hunter.

And to that one lucky fan who does, Busch Light is offering 19 years' worth of free beer. As Busch Light puts it, "that's enough for one lucky fan and their hunting buddies to last them for nearly two decades of hunting season to come."

What's more, Busch Light will also cover the fees and paperwork.

After Busch Light put the call out, more than 2,000 fans — and counting — have expressed a willingness to meet the challenge by going on Busch Light's valid social media posts and commenting #BecomeAHunter and #Sweepstakes for a chance to be the lucky chosen one.

And get this, during peak hunting season, Busch Light says it is also hosting one of the largest private gatherings of Hunters, taking place on Nov. 16, in Appleton, Wisconsin, from 3-7 p.m.

"The event will be filled with plenty of ice-cold Busch Light Hunting Cans to go around, merch giveaways, fan-favorite hunting games, an appearance from the brand’s rugged mascot, the Busch Guy, and more," the company states in a press release.

Fans named Hunter and those willing to legally change their name to Hunter can RSVP until Oct. 27.
