Keith Urban's Girlfriend & Dating History Explained
Keith Urban has only had one wife, actress Nicole Kidman. They married in 2006 and had two kids together.
Before that now-over marriage, though, Urban "enjoyed a long string of female companions, including the supermodel Niki Taylor, and his long-term love, Laura Sigler," according to BBC.
Kidman filed for divorce in September 2025, and that new development has Urban's dating history under greater scrutiny. Kidman has a more colorful dating history than Urban; she was married to Tom Cruise, and dated Lenny Kravitz, actor Marcus Graham, and actor/singer Tom Burlinson, according to US Weekly.
“People close to Keith felt like the split was kind of inevitable,” a source told Peopleof Kidman and Urban. There has been no confirmation beyond anonymous sources about the reason for the divorce.
Urban's publicly known relationship list is shorter than Kidman's.

"His career got really busy, I got really busy, and we never saw each other," she told People. "We're still friends, and I'm so happy for him and Nicole."
Laura Sigler Had a Warning for Nicole Kidman
Urban's ex-girlfriend, Laura Sigler, had a warning for Kidman before Kidman married Urban, according to TODAY.
“Nicole and Keith might date for a while — but it won’t last very long,” Laura Sigler told the The Sun, per TODAY. “I don’t know her but I know him very well.”
She continued: “There were a lot of lows... I don’t have any dark past — he was probably the darkest part, but I’m on my own now and I’m happy about that.”
"He is very attractive and when he talks the talk, he can be very seductive. But I am not sure Keith will ever be ready to settle down," she told the Mail on Sunday, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution described Sigler as a veterinary assistant from Nashville; they were in a long-term relationship that ended in 2002, AJC reported.
Daily Mail ran throwback photos of Sigler and Urban. They dated for eight years and were even engaged.
Keith Urban Said an Ex-Girlfriend Inspired the Song, 'Somebody Like You'
Urban opened up about a relationship on a podcast, Q With Tom Power, in early 2025. Urban revealed that an ex-girlfriend was the inspiration for his song "Somebody Like You."
"I was in a bad way personally, struggling a lot, and I was in a relationship that was not..." he said. "I wasn't in a good way, and I thought at the time, 'My girlfriend seems to really love me. I wish I could love myself the way she seems to.'"
"So the song was actually, 'I want to love somebody like you do, I want to love me like you do.'"
He told the podcaster: "She hears it as a love song, and it finished, and she just looks at me, she goes, 'You're a [expletive] hypocrite,' and then walked out of the room. She's like, 'You don't want to love anyone, you're just an [expletive].' And she wasn't wrong. It wasn't the guy I was, it was the guy I wished I could be."
It's not clear which girlfriend he was referring to in those comments, however.
Keith Urban Once Said Meeting Nicole Kidman Was 'Life-Changing'
Over the years, Urban opened up about his relationship with Kidman as well.
"Yeah, I had to surrender a lot to struggles I had, and get help with that, and just be willing to recognize that I was an alcoholic, simple as that," Urban revealed to CBS News.
He explained how Kidman changed his life.
"Meeting her and getting married wasn't life-changing, it was life-beginning," Urban said of his only wife and the mother of his two daughters. "It was literally like, 'Okay, now life starts.'"
"When you go and see Keith live, that's when you really get to know him," Kidman told CBS. "And you see the musicianship, I mean it's extraordinary, and I know nothing about guitar other than I like how it sounds."
Model Amanda Wyatt also once made accusations about Urban, but his rep denied them, according to Page Six.
