Costco Just Opened Pre-Orders for Its Complete, No-Stress Thanksgiving Feast

0 30

Thanksgiving might be the ultimate food holiday, but it's also one of the most stressful. Between shopping, finding oven space, timing the turkey with the sides, making the gravy, baking the dessert, and the clean-up, it's pretty easy to get frazzled. This year, instead of going it alone, Costco is offering some help: the wholesale giant has opened pre-orders for a Complete Gourmet Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner designed to feed eight people with virtually no additional planning required.

What's Included

Available exclusively through Costco.com, the dinner package weighs in at about 28-pounds of food and costs $269.99. The centerpiece is a fully prepared turkey, paired with a lineup of classic sides and trimmings. While Costco's listing is pretty straightforward, reviewers note that it's a complete dinner package, so no last minute runs for gravy or cranberries.

Here's what you get:

  • 5 lbs, all natural, ABF, free range, Amish farm raised, skin-on, netted turkey breast
  • 3 lbs, mashed potatoes
  • 24 oz, turkey gravy
  • 3 lbs, mac and cheese
  • 3 lbs, sweet corn
  • 3 lbs, green bean casserole
  • 3 lbs, stuffing
  • 20 oz, pack of cranberry relish
  • 12 gourmet dinner rolls
  • 2 lbs, pumpkin pie
  • 2 lbs, apple cobbler

The package is being sold "while supplies last," making early ordering essential. Delivery and reheating instructions are included, but all the heavy lifting and most of the cooking has already been done.

How to Order

Shoppers can't just walk into their local warehouse and expect to snag one. The feast is an online-only, pre-order, with shipping arranged to ensure it arrives in time for Thanksgiving week. Shipping is done through FedEx Overnight and is included in the price. The meal will arrive approximately 2 - 3 business days from the time of the order. So if you place your order on Monday you should expect to receive your dinner on Wednesday.

Is It Worth It?

Convenience is the main selling point here. A "Business Insider" review of last year's Costco's pre-made dinner by Terri Peters, described the dinner as "delicious," and that "the dishes tasted so close to many of my homemade recipes that I didn't miss a thing." Peters added that she, "loved not spending several days in the kitchen making things from scratch, and the clean-up was incredibly easy since so many of the dishes came in oven-safe containers for reheating."

For busy families juggling work and holidays the math makes sense for many. Buying the turkey, sides, and desserts individually can add up quickly, not to mention the hours in the kitchen. Costco's bundle offers predictability: a reliable holiday spread ready to heat and serve. You may not be able to claim the green bean casserole is your great-grandma's recipe, but you'll likely end the day with less stress and spending more time with family, friends, and football. And hey, if you really want to show-off your creative cooking skills, there's always room for a cheese dip.
