Could This WWE Star Be the Next Jason Voorhees?
Adam Scherr, 42, is trading the wrestling ring for the big screen. Best known to WWE fans as Braun Strowman, Scherr is already in the world of horror. He's got a role in Deathgasm 2: Goremageddon, the blood-soaked sequel to Jason Lei Howden’s 2015 cult favorite.
The story picks up with Brodie on a wild quest to resurrect his fallen bandmates. He unleashes chaos (and gore) as he crashes a cutthroat Battle of the Bands. With its mix of outrageous metal energy and over-the-top horror, the sequel promises to up the ante from its predecessor.
But for Scherr, Deathgasm 2 might just be the beginning. When asked by Collider which horror franchise he’d most like to join, he didn’t hesitate: "Oh, Friday the 13th. Jason."
Scherr said he would "gladly shave this beard off to play that character."
He also hinted there may already be whispers of something brewing.
"There may be some talks about it with people that I know and my agency," he told the outlet. "If we could ever get everybody to get back on the same page and allow the things to work, I might be the next Voorhees."
His enthusiasm breathes fresh hope into a long-dormant franchise, and given his intimidating stature and action-heavy background, Scherr could be a natural fit to pick up Jason Voorhees’ machete and terrorize a new generation of horror fans.
