Rory McIlroy Heckled About Amanda Balionis at the Ryder Cup, Video Shows
Professional golfer Rory McIlroy has been a repeated target of hecklers at the Ryder Cup, and it's caused him to lose his cool.
He told fans to shut up, unleashing an expletive, during one round. After a fan allegedly tossed a drink toward McIlroy and his wife, Erica Stoll, a video went viral showing him wiping off her hat, and reports said she broke into tears.
However, now some fans have escalated the tensions even more by taunting McIlroy about broadcaster Amanda Balionis, with whom he was alleged, but never confirmed, to have had a relationship, video shows.
Some Fans Shouted 'Amanda!' at Rory McIlroy, a Video Confirms
According to GB News, some fans "could be heard shouting 'Amanda! Amanda!'– a reference to CBS Sports reporter Amanda Balionis" at McIlroy during the Ryder Cup.
That site noted that the heckling appeared to reference what it called "unsubstantiated" claims about McIlroy and Balionis during the golfer's brief divorce drama.

According to GB News, "there has never been any suggestion of a relationship between McIlroy and Balionis, who is married to NFL broadcaster Bryn Renner," and McIlroy and Erica Stoll famously reconciled. Erica was at the Ryder Cup at his side. That didn't stop the hecklers, though.
The New York Post reported that the "Amanda" heckling came as McIlroy stood "over his putt on the first green."
