Make Sure You Don't Have This Dangerous Walmart Item Around
It's always important to stay informed about product recalls, because doing so can keep you and your family safe. According to ASQ, a "recall is the act of officially summoning someone or something back to its place of origin. A product recall is defined as a request to return, exchange, or replace a product after a manufacturer or consumer watch group discovers defects that could hinder performance, harm consumers, or produce legal issues for the producers."
The FDA adds that a "recall is a method of removing or correcting products that are in violation of laws administered by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Recall is a voluntary action that takes place because manufacturers and distributors carry out their responsibility to protect the public health and well-being from products that present a risk of injury or gross deception or are otherwise defective."
Now, a popular item that was sold at Walmart, as well as Amazon and other stores, is being recalled due to a fire hazard. So, if you have this item, make sure to get a refund.
Epoca International is recalling Paris Hilton Mini Beauty Fridges because of a potential electric circuit misfire than can lead to fire and burn hazards. This item was sold at Walmart stores across the country, as well as Walmart.com, Ross stores and various other e-commerce sites from November 2022 through July 2025.
There have already been 27 reports of this particular mini fridge overheating and catching on fire. But, the good news is that so far, no injuries have been reported.
"The recall involved the 'Paris Hilton Mini Beauty Fridge' in a four-liter model in pink, white, aqua and hot pink, as well as a 10-liter model in pink and white," notes CBS News. The news outlet adds that the CPSC also said, "Consumers should check the model number in the back or the bottom of the mini fridges, which are marketed for refrigerating beauty products like skin care, to see if they've been recalled."
So, if you have one of these little fridges, make sure to get a refund. Consumers are asked to stop using it right away, unplug it and register for the recall at the Epoca site.
