Aldi Is Bringing Back Their Fall-Inspired Chicken Sausages, and Fans Say They’re Perfect for a Quick Dinner
As fall creeps in, food companies and supermarkets are dropping the classic flavors of fall. Aldi is taking note that everyone is searching for these things, and their shelves are full of options. Between their pumpkin spice coffee, caramel apple chocolate clusters, cinnamon bun granola or maple roasted cashews, we are up to our ears with autumn. This week, they’re bringing back a fan-favorite item in two flavors - Simply Nature Organic Chicken Sausage in Harvest Apple and Cranberry Sage.
Aldi's Fan-Favorite Fall-Inspired Chicken Sausages are Perfect for a Quick Meal
Each 12-ounce package contains 5 sausages that are organic, non-GMO, gluten-free and made from chickens fed a vegetarian diet. They are also free of preservatives and artificial flavors. Each sausage has 90-calories, 13-grams of protein and the apple variety has 0-grams of added sugar, while the cranberry variety has only 2-grams of added sugar. The package retails for $4.99.
Since the sausages are fully cooked, they can be the base of a simple and quick dinner. Whether you saute them in a skillet with vegetables and a sauce, then serve over rice, or saute in a skillet with vegetables, potatoes and dried herbs and spices, they are the perfect protein for a one-skillet meal. They can also be made into a sheet pan or air fryer meal with similar ingredients if that’s more your style. Or if it’s still nice outside, throw them on the grill with sweet corn and a basket of vegetables for an autumn-inspired meal.

When Aldi dropped these chicken sausages last year, fans took to social media to share how they cook with them. In this video, @playswellwithbutterjess on TikTok shared an easy sheet pan meal with squash, Brussels sprouts, the Harvest Apple Chicken Sausage and pine nuts, served with balsamic glaze and freshly shredded Parmesan.

Others shared their ideas on Reddit. “The apple chicken sausage is great on a pizza with fig butter and caramelized onions”, said one person. “Yummy with pasta and some vodka sauce!”, said another fan. “I like it cut into pieces, along with cubes of either butternut squash or sweet potatoes, red onion pieces, apples, and bell peppers pieces. Toss with olive oil and salt and pepper and roast on a baking sheet. Super easy dinner”, exclaimed another person.
