Whitewater has always been Elisha McArthur’s world—her passion, her workplace, her peace. But everything shifted when her daughter, Charlotte, came into her life.

River Mamma, a short film directed by Sarah Hamilton, follows Elisha’s journey of rediscovering herself as both a river guide and a mother. With no roadmap for how to do both, Elisha looked to her daughter for strength and clarity.

“There was my baby. She reflected back at me that ‘this is who you are, and this is why I chose you to be my mom. Now get on the ball.’”

This deeply personal film honors the strength it takes to raise others without losing your own identity. It’s a heartfelt exploration of motherhood, identity, and the power of water to bring us back to ourselves.
