The Salt River in Arizona was at peak flows for the year and had already stirred up a lot of media attention with flood levels. I had just met a great crew out of Colorado who were fired up to run it, timing could not have been better. These guys really knew how to handle the Arizona desert, from filtering the extremely muddy waters to the mountain lions and cold nights. The trip was a four day big water expedition with some excellent side adventures to boot.
