2022 Paddlers Awards Winners – Mariann Saether, Paddling Legend
The first award we’re handing out this year is one to celebrate. We’re really stoked to call Mariann Sæther (Norway), to receive the 2022 Legend Paddler of the Year Award! From the earliest trips to New Zealand and across Norway, to running the most insane stuff around world, few paddlers out there impersonate the Whitewater Legend status better than Mariann. For many, she is the paddler that clearly pushed wide open the doors of extreme kayaking, to female paddlers of all age across the world, and this for nearly two decades. Mother of two, you’ll find her charging class 5 in Norway or Patagonia most of the time those days, but make no mistake, Mariann is still at it.
