146DD great family oar setup or not fun?

I have read every thread I can find about what is the best boat setup and specific threads on each boat I am interested in. Family of 4 with 2 kids 10-13. Looking for a raft to throw a frame on and do day trips(70%), 1-2 night camping trips(25%) and maybe a longer trip once a year or every couple (5%). Talked to a couple of local places and had recommendations for a few rafts but I had been looking at Aire's because of price point, warranty, and I know a few people that have them and are happy. Had 2 out of 3 places recommend the 146DD. Originally I was looking at the 156D but the theory was the 146DD had more interior room, a little wider, and that the 156 was long and more of a paddle raft. That all sounds good but my only hesitation is the long waterline of the 146DD and if it will be a fun manuverable boat or feel kind of like a minivan (no complaints, does a great job and gets us where we need to go). Let's hear your thoughts?
