Paddle Choice

Morning all. So Friday is fast approaching and the excitement of picking up the new Canoe is growing. Most of the week my attention has been focused on paddle choice and the internet has been red hot with my searches into makes, modles and materials.
Coming over from Kayaking alot of the basics are the same as regards shaft shape and materials used but at the same time theres so much more to learn.
The first point I need to clarify is the angled paddle and the various angles there available in and the reason for the variations?
Secondly is there a one fits all situation paddle? I understand this is a big ask and although I'd love nothing more than a selection of beautiful wooden hand made paddles the wife would not.
And finally is it better to purchase custom made or off the shelf?
I'm from the school of buy once buy right, theres nothing more annoying that looking at a bad purchase.
