Hi from the fens

0 5
Hi all,
what a fantastic resource this forum is. Years of experience and opinions and ideas all in one place. Brilliant. I'm currently banned from doing anything active for a few weeks weeks, after surgery, so the forum has been the perfect reading material while I sit in an enforced lazy mode!

So, greetings from the Ely area, we're hoping to expand our repertoire and experience as we have many slow rivers very nearby, as a result of living at sea level, or just below it - Lark, Wissey, Little Ouse, are all very close, and the Cam and Great Ouse are a trolley-portage away. We also have a myriad of small lodes, drains and interesting waterways criss-crossing the fens, if access permission allows.

We have an Old Town Camper, and will be putting it to camping use before long hopefully, as soon as we've got ourselves in practice. Although we're very experienced in outdoorsy stuff and camping, our camping is usually done by motorbike, and this is our first tandem boat. As my only other boat is a Boyne pattern coracle, I'm hoping we'll make slightly faster progress with two of us paddling in the canoe!

Hope to meet some of you around, have fun!
